Kye has twice been named Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter of the Year, collected 10 BMI Millionaire Awards and has CMA, ACM, Dove and Grammy nominations. As a music publisher, she has eight ASCAP and BMI-awarded songs including The Way You Love Me, recorded by Faith Hill and the 2002 ASCAP Song of the Year.
Kye’s songs have been recorded by Tina Turner, Bette Midler, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, The Judds, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Kennedy-Rose, Janis Ian, jazz artist Dianne Schuur and flutist James Galway. She has written numerous Number One hits for Barbara Mandrell (Sleeping Single in a Double Bed, In Times Like These, Crackers, Years, Wish You Were Here) and Mandrell’s duet with George Jones, I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool. Other hits include Smokey Mountain Rain and I Wouldn't Have Missed it for the World (Ronnie Milsap); Give Me Wings (Michael Johnson), There You Are (Willie Nelson), Burton Award-winner Nobody (Sylvia), Going Nowhere (Wyonna Judd), Missing You and Roll On Mississippi (Charlie Pride); and Kansas City Lights and All Roads Lead to You (Steve Wariner).
