What Is Song Camp?

Everyone is welcome at Song Camp. Whether you write country or pop, rock or rap, Christian or folk...even if you just write lyrics...if you are the next Justin Bieber or Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift or Adele, Song Camp is for you! New friends, new co-writers and new outlooks on every aspect of songwriting are discovered at Song Camp.
Now it's YOUR chance to experience this incredible and life-changing songwriting event.
Learn where to go from those who've already been there! Our faculty has included the likes of songwriter/author Jason Blume (“Dear Diary” by Britney Spears/This Business Of Songwriting), Steve Seskin ("Grown Men Don't Cry" - Tim McGraw, "Life's A Dance" - John Michael Montgomery), Hugh Prestwood (Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame / "The Song Remembers When" - Trisha Yearwood / "On The Verge" - Collin Raye), Tia Sillers ("I Hope You Dance" - Lee Ann Womack, "There's Your Trouble" - Dixie Chicks), Ralph Murphy ("Half The Way" – Crystal Gayle / "Seeds" – Kathy Mattea), Angela Kaset ("Something In Red" - Lorrie Morgan / "What If It's Me" - Jennifer Day), James Dean Hicks (“Goodbye Time” – Blake Shelton / “National Working Woman’s Holiday” - Sammy Kershaw), Don Henry (Grammy-Winning "Where've You Been" - Kathy Mattea / "All Kinds of Kinds" - Miranda Lambert), Rick Beresford ("If Drinkin' Don't Kill Me" - George Jones / Belmont University and Kerrville Folk Festival faculty), Steve Leslie ("Second Wind" - Darrell Worley, "That's The Truth" - George Strait) and Brian White ("Watching You" - Rodney Atkins, multiple Dove Award winner).
All attendees will receive multiple song critiques. Pre-submitted songs will be used to place each attendee with the most appropriate of our dedicated faculty. Class exercises will stress techniques and strategies for all aspects of songwriting.

| Itinerary: |
A detailed schedule of events will be sent to you once you register for camp. Below is a basic overview of what you can look forward to:
Morning Lectures: Each morning will begin with educational lecture segments from faculty members like Rick Beresford, Hugh Prestwood, Jason Blume and more. These sessions are 90 minutes each in length and focus on specific aspects of the craft of songwriting.
Pro Song Breakdowns: You will meet with at least 4 dedicated faculty members as they take apart, analyze and dissect one of their own hit songs. Find out what they were thinking, why they did this, why they didn’t do that. Take that knowledge and apply it to your own future writing. Sure, you know WHAT you write. But do you know WHY you write it?
Critique Sessions: Over the course of camp, you will have 3 group critique sessions (one song per critique session). In addition to your song, make sure to bring multiple copies of your lyric sheets so your group can follow along. Each day begins at approximately 8am with announcements and runs until approximately 6pm. There are also optional events on Friday and Saturday evenings. Wanna learn more? Sign up for Song Camp today!
