Tuesday, September 7, 2010 is Christian Guest Speaker Night at the Nashville workship with guest singer/songwriter Evan Milby
This workshop is a webcast, click here to watch live webcast.
About Evan: At an age when it is often hard to find direction in life, Evan Milby seems to have found his. Though this young singer/songwriter/guitarist is currently finishing his debut record, Evan is by no means a newcomer to the music industry. Evan was influenced by music at young age, thanks largely to his parents who served as worship pastors. Evan was encouraged to pick up the guitar at the age of ten and began leading worship for his youth group. His hard work and dedication to his church would soon pay off. Merely three years later, Evan met successful Christian recording artist Natalie Grant and her husband producer Bernie Herms at church as a part of their youth choir, led by Geron Davis. It was this meeting that immediately opened a new door of opportunity. Evan began songwriting and working with Herms, and continued to write with singer/songwriter/producer Geron Davis, which led him to sign several songs with Brentwood-Benson Publishing/Integrity. Evan also hit the road with Women of Faith's traveling conference for teenage girls called the "Revolve Tour" as a guitarist for Natalie Grant in addition to leading the worship team. The Revolve Tour’s extensive schedule has allowed Evan to perform to and worship with over 100,000 girls each year for the past four years. Although his touring schedule has been demanding, he is still making time to log some serious hours in the studio preparing his debut record with producer Bernie Herms and collaborating with writers Matthew West, Jason Ingram, and Phillip LaRue as well as Herms. Evan is quick to describe his music as pop/rock with a bit of a funk vibe describing his music as John Mayer meets Maroon5 and citing other influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Marc Brussard, and Dave Barnes. Evan Milby may still be young, but he has a clear vision for his life and music. His passion is to play music with a positive message to inspire and encourage those he encounters. Though Evan loves performing for a large audience he longs to do so with purpose and meaning.
